Bahama Joe's is found on the outside of the Hilton, near the harbour and Señor Frog's. It currently offers latin music and dancing, usually a DJed mix of salsa, merengue, bachata, and reggaeton. Big Boy Restaurant Robinson Road, near Marathon Mall Latin music on Saturday nights from 11:30 p.m. This is a restaurant and bar which offers DJed Latin music after hours on Saturday evenings. It is located a block and a half west of Marathon Mall, beside the R. M. Bailey High School. There’s usually a good crowd, mostly Latinos here, and one can find a mixture of salsa, merengue, bachata, and reggaeton being played by the DJ. If you are from out of town, it may be a good idea to have your own transportation arranged, since cabs are not usually available outside this venue late at night. No cover charge.	Big Boy Restaurant Robinson Road, cerca del Marathon Mall Música latina los Sábados en las noches a partir de las 11:30 p.m. Este es un restaurante y bar que ofrece música latina con DJ después de su horario normal los sábados en la noche. Está ubicado a una cuadra y media del Mall Maratón, al lado del colegio R.M. Bailey. Generalmente hay un buen público, mayormente latinos y se puede encontrar una mezcla de salsa, merengue, bachata y reggaetón con un DJ. Si vienes del extranjero sería bueno buscar transporte con anticipación ya que no hay taxis fuera de este local tarde en las noches. No cobran para entrar.
Café Flamingo Hilton Hotel on Bay Street Fridays - Sundays 11 p.m. - 4 a.m. Latin music on most other evenings. Cafe Flamingo is found on the outside of the Hilton, near the harbour and Señor Frog's. It currently offers the most authentic Cuban style music and dancing in Nassau, since timba is regularly played there, along with some reggaeton and a limited selection of merengue. This club also regularly sponsors live bands, often Cuban, for performances on Friday and Saturday nights. No cover charge.	Café Flamingo Hilton Hotel en la calle Bay Viernes - Domingos, 11 p.m. - 4 a.m. Música latina las demás noches. Café Flamingo se encuentra en las afueras del Hilton, cerca del puerto y Señor Frog's. Es el lugar más auténticamente cubano en cuanto a música y baile en Nassau, como tocan timba a menudo, junto con algo de reggaetón y una selección limitada de merengue. Este club también tiene conjuntos en vivo, a veces cubanos, para los shows los viernes y sábados. No cobran para entrar.
Havana Night at Bullion British Colonial Hilton Hotel One Bay Street 242-322-3301 Thursday 5:30 - 10 p.m. Bullion is found inside the Hilton Hotel, near the lobby. It’s currently the hottest après-work spot for salseros and salseras. It offers an enjoyable atmosphere for dancing, with a mix of music that is 90% salsa. There’s even a chance for a rueda or two here for the interested, and the floor is comfortable. No cover charge.	Havana Night at Bullion British Colonial Hilton Hotel One Bay Street 242-322-3301 Jueves 5:30 - 10 p.m. Bullion se ubica dentro del Hotel Hilton, cerca del lobby. Actualmente es el lugar más caliente para los salseros después del trabajo. Ofrece un ambiente agradable para bailar y una mezcla de música que es 90% salsa. Hay una oportunidad para una rueda para aquellos aficionados y la pista es buena. No cobran para entrar.
Café Tropicana Bay St., Downtown Nassau Fridays – Saturdays 10:00 p.m. – 2:00 a.m. Latin music on most other evenings. La Tropicana is the latest incarnation of a Latin music venue in the location of the former Chippie’s Wall Street Café. It is located upstairs in the building beside the Pompey Museum of Bahamian History, just a few steps away from the Straw Market. The music tends to contain a relatively small percentage of salsa, so go prepared to dance more merengue and bachata. No cover charge.	Café Tropicana Bay St., Downtown Nassau Viernes – Sábados 10:00 p.m. – 2:00 a.m. Música latina lo demás del tiempo. La Tropicana es la última incarnación de un lugar musical en la ubicación del antiguo Chippie's Wall Street Café. Se encuentra arriba en el edificio al lado del Museo Pompey de la Historia Bahameña, a unos pasos del Mercado de Paja. La música tiende a tener poca salsa, así que alístense para bailar mayormente merengue y bachata. No cobran para entrar.
West Coast Grill and Pub The Holiday Inn West Bay and Nassau Streets Latin music on Saturday nights from 11 p.m. This is a restaurant and bar, which offers DJed Latin music after dinner on Saturday evenings. No cover charge. SalsaPower review: West Coast Grill is a restaurant and bar, but after about 11 p.m. the chairs and tables are rearranged so that the center is cleared for dancing.This is a fairly large, well-lighted space with a tiled floor, and it can get pretty crowded as the evening progresses. The music, DJed by a Peruvian woman, is a fairly equal mixture of salsa, merengue and bachata. The dancing is quite lively, but if you are interested in forming a rueda, I suggest you bring some people with you.	West Coast Grill and Pub The Holiday Inn Calles West Bay y Nassau Música latina los Sábados en las noches a partir de las 11 p.m. Este es un restaurante y bar que ofrece música latina con un DJ después de la cena los sábados en las noches. No cobran para entrar. Reseña de SalsaPower: El West Coast Grill es un restaurante y bar pero después de las 11 p.m. las sillas y mesas se ponen de tal forma que el medio deja un espacio para bailar. Es un espacio bastante amplio con pista de baldosa y se repleta a menudo que la noche avanza. La música, cuya DJ es una mujer peruana, es una mezcla de partes iguales de salsa, merengue y bachata. Si quieres formar una rueda, sugiero que traigas ruederos contigo.

Local  Happenings

La Bola en Las Bahamas Last month’s SALSA Night at Club Waterloo, held on Saturday, 27 February, 2010, was a great success. The organizers, Indira and Damian of the Bahamas Salsa Social Network, are already organizing another exciting Salsa Night event for the end of March, date to be confirmed. Check here often for further details as they become available! SALSAcasino Bahamas also had a great turnout for its first ever Viernes Social – Salsa Social Friday night this past Friday, 5 March, 2010. More Viernes Sociales are in the works, so stay tuned!

SalsaPower is pleased to announce that Latin music has found a home on the airwaves of Nassau, thanks to  Island 102.9 FM.   Check out Rítmos Latinos  every Friday night from 7:00 - 10:00 p.m. Host Roscoe provides a wide variety of Latin music for dancing and listening.
